En cierta ocasión, Nan-in Roshi, un maestro japonés de Zen durante la era Meiji (1868-1912) recibió en su monasterio a un profesor universitario que vino a preguntarle sobre el Zen.

Nan-in sirvió te. Llenó la copa del visitante, y siguió virtiendo.
